MEPS stand for Minimum Energy Performance Standards which have been introduced by the Australian government. All systems sold by Wholesale Aircon meet MEPS requirements. This energy rating is mandatory.

Ducted prices can range from $5000 for a single story with 3 outlets up to $8000 for a double story home with 12 outlets

Adding extra zones will add to the cost.

This refers to energy efficiency rating and measures the air conditioners energy consumption and efficiency. A higher EER rating on your air conditioning system means the system is more energy efficient. You can compare the ratings from each manufacturer.

This simply means that the system is able to both cool and heat.

Most Air conditioning systems these days are of inverter type. Inverter air conditioners use a variable frequency drive to control the speed of the motor thus in turn the compressor. When the cooling demand is met the compressor will slow down, in return reducing running costs.

Inverter air conditioners reach the desired room temperature faster, and then constantly adjust to maintain perfect comfort. Inverter air conditioners are more economical to operate and quieter to run than fixed speed units but need to be correctly sized.

Ducted Air Conditioning Guide

You can check the maximum electric input required for the system you are looking at and multiply by the cost per kWh you are getting charged.

Ducted Air-Conditioning Best Brands

All system carry a 5 year full manufacturing warranty.

Generally ducted air conditioner are larger capacities than split system therefore it consumes slightly more electrical running cost than split system. The benefit of ducted air conditioner is it can cool and heat a whole house whereas the split only can cool/heat single room.

Ducted Air conditioners can vary from supply and install from $1500 to $5000 and more.

Yes It does add value to your house.

Depending on how much the usage is , Ducted air-conditioning generally lasts for 10-12 years.

MAINTAINING YOUR AIRCONDITIONER

As a general rule, you should clean your air conditioner filters within the indoor unit every two to three weeks. In more dusty or polluted environments, you should clean your filters more regularly. Like anything the more, you maintain the longer it will last

Cleaning your filters is the most important maintenance task you can do to care for your air conditioner.

Blocked filters can reduce a system’s efficiency significantly. Replacing a blocked-up filter with a clean one can lower your air conditioner’s energy consumption by anywhere from 5% to 15%.

At a minimum you need to clean and maintain your air conditioner’s air filters, as any build-up of dust or dirt will restrict airflow and reduce the energy efficiency and capacity of your system.

Re-gassing an air conditioner will never be necessary if it is installed correctly.

However, if the pipe connections are not flared (a type of compression fitting) properly or tightened to the correct torque, or if the pipes themselves degrade over time for some unforeseen reason, then they may leak, which is the most common cause of needing to re-gas an air conditioner.

Terms such as ‘stale gas’ or ‘expired gas’ are not something that occurs in air conditioning units.

If there is a gas leak in your air conditioning system it should be inspected by a qualified air conditioning technician.

The filters in your indoor unit can be replaced. The procedure to remove and replace your filters can be found in the operation manual of your particular Daikin air conditioner.

The procedure to remove the ‘fascia’ (i.e. front panel) and access the filters of your indoor unit is found in the operation manual that comes with your Daikin air conditioner.

To clean a Daikin air filter, simply vacuum away any dust on the filter or wash the air filter with natural detergent thinned with lukewarm water, then allow the filter to dry outside in a shaded area.

Having your Daikin air conditioner checked each year by a qualified service technician, like your Daikin Specialist Dealer, before the most extreme conditions of summer or winter set in is ideal for making sure your system will perform at its best.

Aside from this, remembering to keep the air filter clean and the outdoor unit free of leaves and debris are essential for ensuring your Daikin system operates at full capacity throughout the peak seasons.
